So Excited!!!

I am very excited about this trip, but in the same breath, I am very nervous. I don't speak German, French or Dutch which makes me a little nervous and embarrassed. I've been trying to brush up on some German, but keep trying to add Spanish words into the mix...sort of a SpanGerman language. (

I feel that this is a once in a lifetime experience. Not only do I get to meet new people, but I get to meet new people in a different culture/environment that share the same interests. I can't wait to learn a different culture and all that comes with it... politics, business, environmental issues and to see how they view Americans. Maybe we can come back to America enlightened with ideas to improve how we do things here in America (and not just with veterinary medicine).

On the other hand, I am sad to be leaving... I am leaving behind a wonderful husband for 4 weeks. He encouraged me to go on this trip and to see another part of the world. I can't say how much I am going to miss him, but I can't wait to tell him of my adventures.

Lastly, I am excited to spend some time with my colleagues. I haven't spent much time outside of school with my classmates, and I am looking forward to building a friendship with them.
