Wow, I cannot believe I am leaving for Germany in only 2 days. I thought by now I would be nervous about going, but I'm still nothing but excited. I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that this is an established, well-organized trip. And even when it came to planning weekends, I was surprised once I stated talking to people, how many people I know who are either from Germany or have been there. I was given more ideas of things to do while I was there than I could possibly fit in this trip, even if I was planning the whole thing.
What's special about this trip is that not only do we get an opportunity to do things that we would most likely never get to do as normal tourists, such as tours of the vet schools and zoos, but they are also veterinary related. What better way to grow as a vet student than to see the way not just other people do things, but the way other countries do things.
This trip is going to be a life changing experience, and I am eternally grateful to every person who made this trip possible for me. I hope to learn about culture, as well as veterinary medicine in Europe, and staying with the host students will definitely help with both of those. And I am also looking forward to the sites. Europe has such a long history of elaborate architecture, and plenty of natural beauty as well (my camera will certainly be full of pictures). I hope this trip will be everything I am imaging it to, and I am going to keep a positive attitude to ensure that it is!
