Absolutely wonderful hospitality! We were treated to coffee and cookies during lectures and they fed us their cafeteria all week. And the students are amazing.
Lectures on the curriculum at the vet school, the evolution of veterinary medicine, animals welfare, and public health (all the EU rules…). Tours of the equine clinic (I was very impressed with it, and our tour guide was very amusing) and the companion animal clinic. They are required to have lots of windows because employees are supposed to get at least 2-3 hours of sunlight a day, which I thought was really nice.
I cannot even explain how amazing the students were! Their student organization hosted a dinner and movie night for us the first night (they have an awesome student lounge) and invited us to their soccer game (which some of the American students were allowed to play in) and after-party the next night (after making us dinner again). They seemed so much less stressed about life. I had a really great time and am eternally grateful to my host and her boyfriend for the wonderful experience I had in Utrecht.
