Novartis... not just another drug company

Today we had a whirlwind tour of everything that Novartis has to offer in the Basel area. We started off in their office building located right next to the fantastic Ramada hotel that they put us up in. There we listened to several lectures about the company and their research and product development, the typical things you expect to learn about a drug company. Then we to an hour bus ride to St. Aubin where we had lunch and got the opportunity to see all of the different facilities where they raised the insects, sheep, dogs, and cattle that they used as research subjects, and we had the chance to speak with the people in charge of these departments. It was an eye opening experience to see how well the facilities are maintained, and the good quality of care these animals receive.
