Thank you, Novartis!

Thank you to Novartis for hosting us in Basel! It was really neat to see all the research and testing that is done before a product hits the market. For example, the new sheep dewormer: how they took into consideration easier handling of the drench gun and that it took multiple attempts to get a suitable package for it; the emulsifier process for making chewable drugs; and the temp controlled rooms for checking drug stability. Then we headed to St. Aubin to tour the facility where they house the animals and grow parasites. Learned about their animal welfare, such as the dogs having to be bred for the purpose of research, and how they perform some of their testing (struvite crystals to induce temporary arthritis-like pain, for example).
