We arrived in Switzerland last night, it was raining and cold. Everybody kept saying we just missed the nice weather, oh well. We started our day with a presentation on the Novartis company and we took a tour of their labs. They are working on some really neat stuff. I really like their new drench gun. After that we headed to their research facility in St. Aubain. There we had another tour that included their flea and tick breeding areas. We also got to see their cattle facilities which were very nice. Their whole facility was originally a crop relearch facility that was retrofitted so some of the buildings look a little odd. The roofs are all troughs that were originally designed to catch rain water . they had to discontinue use though because the herbicides used on the fields were being concentrated in the runoff that was being collected for irrigation and it was killing the crops. All in all it was an interesting day.
