As our departure draws near, I have been anxiously packing... and repacking my bags. I have been trying to remember every little item that may be necessary, as well as the last minute details I have to take care of here in the states before I leave. Luckily, all the plans and details seem to be working themselves out!
I am most concerned about leaving my dog here for the 5 weeks that I will be gone to Europe. All the details of her care have been planned out, I am just hopeful that everyone carries out their part to minimize her stress while I am gone.
Because I have been to Europe a couple of times before (I have spent a week in Paris and a week in Scotland), I think that I have much less anxiety than I did prior to my first European trip. As long as my luggage makes it, I will be completely at ease and along for the ride!
I am most excited about all the different cultures that I will be able to experience while on this trip. I feel so lucky to be able to have this opportunity to see how other countries approach veterinary medicine. This trip will be an experience that will affect my entire career as a veterinarian. I am particularly excited about seeing the stallions in Hannover.
There isn't a single activity that I am not excited about. I can't wait to leave!
