how many syllables are in that word again?

I finally cracked open my old lonely planet guide to Europe and read a little about the places we'll be going. Coming across a street name that spanned the entire line of text, I tried to pronounce it aloud as my tongue fumbled over all the letters. I'm not sure my attempt at German is going to impress anyone. "Kno-chen-hauer-str"
My friend just asked me if I was done packing or still in the process to which I had to answer, "nope, I haven't even started..." I'm really bad about packing and preparing for trips without procrastinating. I finally got my weekend trip to Prague for our first free weekend planned out with Jennifer. That was a big relief. Now I just need to solidify train schedules to go visit my uncle in Lausanne, Switzerland for our second free weekend.
I'm really looking forward to exploring Germany. Although I've been to the Netherlands and Switzerland, and visited my grandparents, aunts, and uncles on my mother's side who live in Paris and Lausanne almost every-other summer growing up, I've never been to Germany. I'm excited about the mudwalking tour in Noordpolderzijl (again, another word I can't gracefully say), visiting the Seal Rehabilitation and Research Centre Lenie t'Hart, seeing how life is like (and different from us) for the TiHo students, and visiting the Novartis facilities.
My aunt and grandparents have always expressed a wish for me to come live in Europe once I've finished my DVM, and although it's quite unlikely for me, maybe this trip will change my mind!
