The week spent with the Hannover students and Dr. Breves was incredible. My host student, Kathrin, has a four year daughter, Kiara, who is absolutely precious! She talks to me in german and I feel bad about not being able to talk to her back, just shrugging and grinning stupidly.
Kathrin was a wonderful host. She took time to make sure that I was comfortable and even showed me the way to places so that I wouldnt get lost. Her home was directltly across the street from the TiHo University, so that wasnt too big of a worry.
My favorite part of the second week was definetley the two hours spent in the clinics. I was sent to help out with ultrasound and as soon as I stepped into the room, I saw that they had a two foot iguana splayed out on its back. Apparently, it was constipated, but the dr.s couldnt figure out the diagnoses and they sent the reptile to radiography. next came a barrage of dogs and cats with various problems, mostly masses.
The stallion stud farm in Cele was also impressive. I watched my very first semen collection.
